REFLECTIVE SHEETS

Soltex strongly recommends the use of a reflective sheet with your pool cover in order to protect it from permanent solar damage when the cover is off the pool or not in use. A reflective sheet:

Reduces the temperature of a stored pool cover by over 30°C
Lengthens the pool cover’s lifespan by using a recommended storage method when the cover is not in use
Is available in 1m and 2m widths x 100m lengths

A swimming pool cover is designed to prevent heat loss when on the water and its temperature remains moderate when lying on the water. When the material is off the pool and left exposed to direct sunlight, either folded up or on a rollup or reel system, heat builds up within the material and can result in accelerated degradation such as material brittleness or permanent deformation. This is prevented with the use of a reflective sheet. Its 300μm material is formed in two layers - an opaque black layer to shade the material and a light blue layer with a high reflective index to prevent heat build-up within the material.

POOL COVER CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Cared for properly, your Soltex swimming pool cover will last for many years. To maximise its lifespan, we offer the following tips:

It is important not to use a jetwash to clean the cover, as this can damage the top
Never fold the cover in sections
Never leave the cover rolled upin direct sunlight for long periods of time without a sun-refective cover
Never leave the cover in contact with the swimming pool water directly after shocking the pool
Don't walk on the cover
Always try to clean chlorine or salt deposits from the top of the cover
Always make sure the pull rope and straps are pulling and collecting the cover in a straight line
